Helen Kemp, President, Cincinnati Chapter

Hello! Welcome to the Cincinnati Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated website! To all those who have supported our efforts over our 64+ year history, thank you! Whether you are a longtime supporter or a brand new guest, welcome!

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is an organization with a rich history of having a positive and significant impact on the lives of children and families across the nation. Since our founding in 1938 as a national organization, the members of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. have been committed to developing future leaders with programs focused on leadership development, service, legislative advocacy and philanthropic giving.

The Cincinnati Chapter, founded in 1953, has that same focus today. We are an organization of mothers, 56 families strong, committed to improving the lives of all children while also carrying out the mission of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. It is important that we equip children with life skills and leadership skills to enable them to develop strategies for success now and in the future. Our programs include age appropriate training for children ages 2–19. Examples of this are public speaking training and opportunities, financial literacy & stewardship, and personal accountability and responsibility.

The Cincinnati Chapter actively serves our community. From the chapter–wide service activities that involve the entire family, to age-group specific activities and service projects for mother members, we believe in the power of service. The chapter is also involved in creating meaningful, memorable programs and being a voice in the community through legislative advocacy. As Mother Members we have a unique perspective and believe that it is our duty to work to improve the lives of all children and the communities in which they live. We believe that legislative advocacy is an effective route to do that.

In addition to volunteer service and legislative advocacy, the Cincinnati Chapter makes generous annual donations. The Jack and Jill Foundation, Inc. — the first African–American foundation — supports local programs and services that benefit mothers and children in the Greater Cincinnati area and beyond. We also give annually to local non–profit organizations whose missions are aligned with our own. Many of our philanthropic efforts are made possible through our annual fundraising event known as 3D: Denim, Diamonds and DJs (next one scheduled for March 10, 2018).

The Cincinnati Chapter is making a difference in the lives of all children and our community. We are engaged and energized. We are mission–minded and dream–driven. Together, we are reaching for the stars!

On behalf of the Mother Members, Associates, Fathers and Children of the Cincinnati Chapter, I thank you for your support and your interest in the Chapter. I invite you to get to know our Chapter and our Organization better by exploring this website that highlights our efforts.

Letís work, letís play, letís live together!

Yours in Service,
Helen Kemp
